About AlpacaX
Every major cloud breach starts the same way—someone, or something, runs a command they shouldn't have. That problem is about to get 10x worse. AI agents are moving from chatbots to operators, running shell commands on production servers with no human in the loop.
AlpacaX builds Alpacon—the platform that controls what humans and AI agents can execute on production infrastructure.
Every command goes through Alpacon first. Dangerous operations get blocked in real time. Sudo requests require explicit approval—even from a phone. Teams get browser-based terminal access with no inbound ports to open, no VPN to maintain.
For AI to take on more tasks and gain more capabilities, the infrastructure it operates on has to be safe by default. We're building that fundamental layer—so that more operators can trust AI agents in production and confidently put them to work. The end game: AI that can debug, maintain, and operate production systems autonomously. We operate in the US and Korea with 100% customer retention over 3.5 years.
The role
You'll work directly with the CEO to shape how the market understands AI agent infrastructure security. This isn't a "write generic blog posts" internship—you'll be building the content engine for a new category.
What you'll do:
- Write technical content—blog posts, comparison pages (Alpacon vs. Teleport, CyberArk, etc.), explainers on AI agent security risks
- Produce and edit demo videos and walkthroughs as new features ship
- Manage and grow our presence on LinkedIn, Reddit, Hacker News, and relevant DevOps/security communities
- Research competitive landscape and distill insights into actionable positioning
- Support conference prep, event logistics, and outreach as opportunities arise
- Collaborate with the engineering team to translate product capabilities into compelling narratives
What you won't do:
- Sit in a corner writing copy no one reads. You'll have direct access to the CEO and real influence on how we go to market.
You might be a great fit if you...
- Have a genuine interest in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or cybersecurity (coursework, side projects, homelab, CTFs—all count)
- Write clearly and concisely about technical topics—you can explain a complex concept without hiding behind jargon
- Are comfortable being scrappy. We're a startup. You'll figure things out as you go.
- Can work async and self-directed—we're a distributed team across US and Korea, so you'll need to own your time and deliverables without constant check-ins
- Have experience creating content—blog, YouTube, podcast, newsletter, anything
- Know your way around GitHub, Claude Code, and tools like Notion or video editing software
- Bonus: familiarity with Linux, SSH, containers, or any PAM/zero-trust concepts
- Bonus: you've contributed to open-source projects or developer communities
Why this internship is worth your time
- You'll name a category. Two years from now, every AI agent hitting production will need an execution control layer. That category barely exists yet. You'll be the person who helped shape how the industry talks about it.
- Your work ships immediately. No approval chains, no six-month roadmap. You write it, we publish it.
- You'll build a public portfolio. Everything you create—blog posts, videos, comparisons—goes out under your name. Not buried in a corporate content calendar.
- You'll be in the room. Security leaders, VCs, infrastructure engineers—you'll interact with the people building and funding the next generation of cloud security.
