Every major cloud breach starts the same way—someone, or something, runs a command they shouldn't have. That problem is about to get 10x worse. AI agents are moving from chatbots to operators, running shell commands on production servers with no human in the loop.

AlpacaX builds Alpacon—the platform that controls what humans and AI agents can execute on production infrastructure.

Every command goes through Alpacon first. Dangerous operations get blocked in real time. Sudo requests require explicit approval—even from a phone. Teams get browser-based terminal access with no inbound ports to open, no VPN to maintain.

For AI to take on more tasks and gain more capabilities, the infrastructure it operates on has to be safe by default. We're building that fundamental layer—so that more operators can trust AI agents in production and confidently put them to work. The end game: AI that can debug, maintain, and operate production systems autonomously. We operate in the US and Korea with 100% customer retention over 3.5 years.

Why this role exists

At RSAC 2026, 48% of security professionals named agentic AI as the most dangerous attack vector. Every major vendor announced agent governance products. But here's the gap: they're all focused on data access and API permissions. Nobody is governing what actually gets executed at the shell level—the commands, the sudo requests, the scripts running on production servers.

That's an open category. We've been building in it for 3.5 years. Now the market is catching up, and we need someone to lead the charge—define how the US market understands this space, land the first reference customers, and establish AlpacaX as the company that owns execution control before better-funded competitors fill the gap.

What you'll own

Create and lead a new category in the US market. AI agent execution control barely exists as a named space. You'll define how buyers think about it, build the sales narrative from scratch, and land the first US reference customers that prove the category is real.

Specifically:

  • Identify and engage VP of Platform Engineering / SRE Lead / CISO buyers at companies adopting agentic ops
  • Run outbound—build pipeline from scratch, not inherit one
  • Lead discovery calls and shape deal structure for early enterprise contracts
  • Develop and iterate the sales narrative based on what resonates in real conversations
  • Build channel relationships with AI agent companies who need Alpacon to overcome their buyers' "what if the agent breaks production?" objection
  • Design PoC and pilot strategies that fit enterprise procurement workflows, and execute them with the team
  • Feed product insights back to the engineering team to sharpen PMF
  • Help sequence and support the fundraise narrative with investor-facing positioning

You won't be executing someone else's playbook. You'll be writing the one that everyone else copies later.

Who you are

  • You've sold infrastructure security or DevOps tooling to technical buyers (PAM, zero-trust, observability, CI/CD—that world)
  • You've done early-stage GTM before—ideally taken a product from zero to first 5-10 enterprise customers, not just scaled an existing pipeline
  • You have a live network of CISOs, VP Engineering, or SRE leaders you can reach in a warm email
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity. Positioning is still being sharpened. ICP hypotheses need validation. You're here to figure it out, not execute a playbook someone else wrote.
  • You know the difference between enterprise-pull and vendor-push sales motions—and why that matters for this product

What we're not looking for

  • Someone who needs a 10-person BDR team and a six-figure marketing budget to get started. We have CRM infrastructure and BD support, but you'll be building pipeline yourself.
  • A "strategy-only" advisor. We need someone who sends emails, gets on calls, and closes.
  • Someone who's only done growth-stage. If your experience starts at $5M ARR, this won't be a fit.

What you're walking into

This isn't a cold start. You'll have:

  • A product with 3.5 years of production history and 100% customer retention
  • Paying enterprise customers—proof the product sells when buyers see it
  • Active partnership with Auth0/Okta ecosystem
  • An engineering team actively shipping product
  • CRM infrastructure and BD support already in place

Add a GTM leader who can turn all of that into a repeatable sales motion—and this becomes a category-defining company.

Compensation

$130K–170K base salary + 1–3% equity, depending on experience and impact potential. Standard 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff. You'd be joining before the category has a name, with a product that already works. That's rare—and the equity reflects it.
